Who did you want to be when you grew up? Are you that person now? Learn the ingredients to make a lasting, positive impact on the world, one small act of kindness at a time.
“I want to be the mayor when I grow up,” my then kindergartner son said as I was making him lunch.
“Why do you want to be the mayor?” I asked, smiling and admiring his aspiration.
“Because I want to take care of everyone,” he said. “I want everyone to be safe and make good choices.”
With a proud heart, I said, “That is very kind and loving of you to care so much about other people.”
I thought for a second more and added, “Whatever you do in life, just be a good person.”
This conversation was a reminder to me that I am raising future decision makers to contribute to society in a helpful way.
It is my hope that we all do our part to:
Be kind.
Be curious.
Be compassionate.
Be helpful.
Be loving.
These things begin with us, busy parents of the world.
